The Big Lunch 2011.
Putting up the bunting on the Saturday on a warm sunny afternoon looked promising for our big day.
Sunday dawned cool and cloudy with rain threatening – and it did during the afternoon.
But, were we detered from having a good time – not a bit of it, we just raised umbrella’s and carried on enjoying the company of one another, the food, music and community spirit.
The raffle.
Keeping cool.
Surbiton Hospital August start.
PLANS for a new health care centre and primary school on the Surbiton Hospital site are moving forward, as it is announced that building work is expected to start in August.
Under the plans, which have been put together by the NHS and the council, the Ewell Road site will be demolished to make way for a healthcare centre providing a base for up to eight existing GP practices as well as outpatient care, community services and a pharmacy.
From Kingston Informer.
The Big Lunch – this Sunday – see you there.
Sunday June 5th 12:00 to 5:00 pm.
Owing to the current financial situation we have been unable to gain funding for our Big Lunch community event this year.
We will therefore have to make a small charge per household which will be a minimum of £5 to help cover the cost of organising the event and having the jazz group again.
You may of course give more which would be gratefully appreciated.
We have already called on – or returning to – those housholds who attended last year and giving them a card with a unique number for the prize draw to be held during the day.
We are also delivering the front garden competition cards at the same time.
You can drop your £5 (plus) for The Big Lunch into numbers 33 or 41 Bond Road and we will deliver your numbered card.
Road closures.
We will again be closing Ellerton Road between Dennan Road and Tolworth Park Road and Bond Road from Ellerton Road to the bend from 10 am to 7 pm.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause residents but trust you will help by moving your carsby 10 am please so that setting up may safely commence.
Tables.
We are trying to organise tables and some chairs as last year – but watch this space for an update on this.
We may have to rely on you bringing your own.
Food.
As last year it is bring your own food, plate and cutlery and those able to bring extra for sharing – especially foreign/exotic – would be very welcome and much appreciated.
We will supply refuse bags and bags for recycling items.
Fancy dress competition with three age groups: 0 – 6, 7 – 13, 14 – …

We would be grateful for any items you have for the raffle, these can be dropped off at 33 Bond Road for storage.
